Rest area Historical site

At the tip of NRW - the northernmost point is actually in Rahden.

It was really no longer news to Rahden and Pr. Ströhen that a small attraction is actually hidden where peaceful cows graze on the border with Lower Saxony. In the village of Pr. Ströhen in the town of Rahden lies the northernmost point of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is 52 degrees 32 minutes north latitude and about 8 degrees and 39 minutes east longitude. On October 5, 2001, the NRW North Point was officially inaugurated with a ceremony attended by the public and the regional and national press.

The NRW North Point has become a popular destination for day trips, especially for cycling groups. The Bremen-Bad Oeynhausen long-distance cycle path, the Weser-Lippe rail-cycle route and an inner-city cycle path pass by the Nordpunkt. They are part of a well-developed network of cycle paths that is appreciated by both locals and visitors from outside Rahden.
