Museumshof Rahden

Open-air museum Museum Village Museum

Museumshof mit bäuerliche Lebens- und Arbeitswelt.

The museum farm is a fully furnished farmstead that reflects the way of life in the 19th century. Immerse yourself in the past during a guided tour, explore the farm via audio guide or visit us on one of our action days. For groups, we offer educational programmes such as beekeeping, baking or butter churning.

The Rahden Museum Farm was built here between 1962 and 1966 with the help of the Stadtsparkasse Rahden and the LWL. Its buildings - with the exception of the barn - all stood on various farms in what is now the town of Rahden. They were taken down there, restored and rebuilt here.

The visitor will find a fully furnished farmstead with its many trimmings, as it looked in the 19th century.
All the interior furnishings consist of original pieces and come from the old Amt Rahden.
