Geführte Tour zur größten Doppel-Ringwallanlage in Nordwestdeutschland - der Arkeburg.
The guided tour of Arkeburg Castle takes about 2 hours. Arkeburg Castle was built around 1200 years ago by the still pagan Saxons under Duke Widukind as protection against the threat from the Christian Franks under Charlemagne. Up to 10,000 people and their livestock could find shelter here. Following archaeological excavations, the results of the research have now been presented in an exciting way for everyone to see. The site can be explored on an approx. 1300m long castle trail, with 6 information boards showing exciting details about the excavations. The cost contribution is €6 per person.
