The Ellerburg-Aue cycle path accompanies the Große Aue from its source in Rödinghausen on the south side of the Wiehengebirge to its confluence with the Weser at Liebenau. On this connecting route between the district of Herford, the west of the district of Minden-Lübbecke and the district of Nienburg, it is fascinating to experience how, in a rural idyll with beautiful places and a lot of history, the small rivulet in the Wiehengebirge becomes a respectable river at the estuary.
